Poets of the Fall
The Finnish rock band Poets of the Fall celebrates 20 years with a tour! The breakthrough came with the song Last Goodbye and the band has since released several acclaimed albums and toured the world. The band’s last gig in Stockholm sold out quickly and this autumn Poets of the Fall returns for a gig at Berns in Stockholm on October 15th!
Poets of the Fall founded by singer Marko Saaresto, guitarist Olli Tukiainen and keyboardist Markus ‘Captain’ Kaarlonen started their musical adventure from scratch in 2003. Guitarist Jaakko ‘Jaska’ Mäkinen, bassist Jani Snellman and drummer Jari Salminen later joined the band.
The debut album Signs of Life from 2005 went straight to first place on the Finnish album chart and the follow-up Carnival of Rust ended up in first place already during the week of release. Today, both of these albums have sold platinum in Finland.
The successes have not slowed down since then. The band’s ninth album Ghostlight was released last year and includes the critically acclaimed single Requiem for my Harlequin. This year the band celebrates 20 years with a grand tour and makes a long-awaited comeback to the Swedish stage on October 15 at Berns
