RINA SAWAYAMA
“The best British pop album of the year”. The words come from NME and refer to Rina Sawayama’s second album ‘Hold The Girl’ which was released earlier this year. And the venerable publication is far from alone in praising the limitless and captivating cocktail that the Japanese/British singer-songwriter serves up. 90s fragrant alternative rock, trance, indie, modern pop, R&B and metal – like a sprawling playlist, Sawayama throws herself between the expressions without for a moment losing touch with her crystal clear vision. All topped off with the ex-Cambridge student’s exceptionally well-written lyrics.
Rina Sawayama has said that her goal is to write great songs. To say that she succeeded would be an understatement and these high-octane creations, as expected, perform absolutely superbly on stage. Sawayama is talked about and praised for her amazing concerts where her varied music, to say the least, has a history of evoking both level-hopping and teary-eyed cellphone swinging.
On February 26, the chance has come to Berns in Stockholm – ticket release Friday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m.!
