After a successful tour and festival gigs around Europe, the goth prince Ville Valo returns to Sweden after a decade. We will hear Valo’s new material but also classic songs from his former band HIM. VV makes two stops, Gothenburg April 26 and Stockholm April 29.
Ville Valo made a name for himself as the charismatic frontman of the goth rock phenomenon HIM. The Finnish group started their career in the mid-90s, stuck together for two decades and in the process received several platinum and gold records, Grammy nominations, radio hits, several #1 positions and made Finnish music history by being the first and only Finnish the band that sold gold in the US. HIM said goodbye to the outside world in 2017.
Ville Valo or VV, which is his new stage name, released his debut album “Neon Noir” in January 2023. On this one, the sound of his old band is recognizable, and that grand romanticism and monumental melancholy that distinguished HIM is given the same scope here.
