Taking the new music on tour

After more than two decades as one of Sweden’s biggest live bands, Hoffmaestro are showing no signs of slowing down. Early next year, the cult favourites will release their first album entirely in Swedish, alongside several new singles and an extensive tour. On September 4, they release the ’80s-inspired track “Borderline”, the latest taste of the upcoming album, while also announcing their forthcoming tour.

With more than 200 million streams and songs such as “Highway Man”, “Seize the Day”, “The Storm”, “Degen ska in” and “Bacchanal (vem bryr sig om 200 år!?)”, Hoffmaestro remain one of the most established names on the Swedish music scene. Their latest release, “Borderline”, is an ’80s-inspired pop track with a distinct touch of yacht rock. The lyrics portray a destructive yet addictive attraction, where sexual desire ultimately overpowers reason.

“Borderline features a driving guitar and bass riff, backed by a steady, danceable drum and percussion beat. Add shimmering synths, atmospheric harmonies in the hook and lyrics about stepping out onto an emotional tightrope,” Hoffmaestro explain.

Releasing music in Swedish is a natural next step in a journey that began in Stockholm in 2005. Throughout their career, Hoffmaestro have refused to choose between celebration and seriousness, instead building a culture of their own around the music, with the audience and fans always close to the band and at the heart of what they do. Through explosive performances at some of Sweden’s and Europe’s biggest festivals, they have established themselves as one of the country’s most acclaimed live acts.

This autumn and spring, Hoffmaestro will take the new music on the road with an extensive tour of Sweden, kicking off in Örebro on November 14.
