Svenska Gastronomipriset 2025 – The Industry’s Voices Unite at Berns for the Second Year in a Row

On May 12, 2025, Sweden’s gastronomic elite will once again gather in the historic halls of Berns, the heart of Stockholm’s cultural scene, as the Svenska Gastronomipriset returns for its second consecutive year in the iconic venue where history, craftsmanship, and contemporary flair meet in perfect harmony.

A Gala By the Industry, For the Industry

Svenska Gastronomipriset is unlike any other award. Here, it’s not driven by PR-driven juries or public votes – it’s the industry itself that decides. Chefs vote for chefs, bartenders honor their most inspiring colleagues, and sommeliers recognize one another for their knowledge and passion.
A total of 100 professionals in each category – chefs, servers, bartenders, sommeliers, pastry chefs, and baristas – cast their votes to highlight the most creative, collegial, and competent individuals and establishments in the field. It’s a true celebration of professionalism, craftsmanship, and mutual respect. All votes are handled confidentially, resulting in one of the most prestigious and transparent acknowledgements within Swedish gastronomy.

Stureplansgruppen Recognized in Several Categories

This year, Stureplansgruppen stands proudly among the nominees – a testament to the passion and expertise that defines the group’s efforts within both food and beverage. Notably, several nominations can be found in the categories of, Bartenders’ Bartender, Bartenders’ Bar and Chefs’ Chef.
To be acknowledged on these lists is an honor for both the individuals and the establishments they represent – particularly because the recognition comes directly from peers within the industry.

A Celebrated Collaboration

The award is organized by Restaurangvärlden and Bergkvist Publishing, and has firmly established itself as a respected and essential institution in the Swedish culinary world. That this year’s gala once again takes place at Berns – with its deep roots in both entertainment and gastronomy, home to Sweden’s very first Chinese restaurant – feels not only fitting, but like a tribute to the legacy and future that Berns embodies.

A Night to Remember

With its mix of glamour, respect, professional pride, and genuine camaraderie, Svenska Gastronomipriset is more than just a gala – it is a cornerstone for Sweden’s entire gastronomic community. And for Berns to once again host this grand occasion is a reflection of the venue’s role as a House of Entertainment – a place where things are always happening, where the present is shaped, and the future is welcomed.
