Since the 19th century, Berns has been one of Stockholm’s most desirable addresses, with its Belle Èpoque exterior and an opulent interior to match – indeed our Red Room was the setting for August Strindberg’s novel of the same name.
The hotel has since been renovated, the exterior lovingly restored, and the interior completely re-designed in a simple, ultra-contemporary style. The suites are a bit more extravagant, of them featuring saunas or jacuzzis, with interiors by notable guestdesigners, such as Patricia Urquiola and Philippe Starck.
The restaurants and bars have also received a facelift, courtesy of Sir Terence Conran and the hotel is one of Stockholm’s top performance venues.Maybe it’s the discreet entrance which has made the venue the choice for luminaries such as Lady Gaga, Bob Dylan, Rihanna, Bill Gates, Beyoncé, and the Dalai Lama?
