A Natural Meeting Place for Swedish Gastronomy

Hosting the awards at Berns once again provided an elegant setting for the evening. In its historic salons, tradition met innovation, two qualities that also define Swedish gastronomy today.

Since 1863, Berns has been a destination for culture, entertainment, meetings and memorable experiences in the heart of Stockholm. As a vibrant House of Entertainment, Berns continues to bring together people from across the cultural and business worlds. The Swedish Gastronomy Awards therefore fit naturally into the venue’s long-standing tradition of providing a stage for significant moments.

An Evening for the Entire Industry

Unlike many other awards, the Swedish Gastronomy Awards are not solely about what appears on the plate. The awards celebrate the complete experience and the people behind it: the ingredients, hospitality, beverages, creativity, leadership and exceptional craftsmanship.

The evening therefore became more than an awards ceremony. It was a meeting place where experience encountered fresh perspectives and where industry colleagues could draw inspiration from one another’s work. At a time when the restaurant and hospitality sectors continue to evolve rapidly, the gala also offered an opportunity to pause and recognise the passion behind Sweden’s strong gastronomic identity.

Berns as Host of the Future of Gastronomy

For Berns, it is an honour to host the Swedish Gastronomy Awards for the second consecutive year. The event reflects many of the values Berns has always represented: quality, curiosity, creativity and meaningful encounters between people.

With its central location beside Berzelii Park, Berns is both a historic destination and a modern boutique hotel in Stockholm. Here, restaurants, accommodation, events, music and nightlife come together under one roof. The 2026 Swedish Gastronomy Awards marked another evening added to the history of Berns, while also paying tribute to everyone shaping the future of Swedish gastronomy.
