We have chosen to work with Green Key, a certification that has been around for 30 years and is now an internationally leading certification for establishments in the hospitality industry. Today, Green Key-certified establishments can be found in over 70 countries across the globe. Read more about their and our work on our Green Key page.
Green Key is a internationally managed Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) who is partnered by some of the world’s foremost organizations within the fields of environment and education, such as UNEP, UNESCO and the World Tourism Organization.
The organization Green Key Sweden and all Green Key establishments must be approved by an independent jury.
Berns supports the charity Nattvandrarna. Operating across Sweden, Nattvandrarna is a democratic, non-profit organization made up of local groups and associations.
Their volunteers patrol the streets in their yellow jackets, providing adult role models, sympathetic support and a reassuring presence for young people who are out and about at night.
Having the volunteers around also prevents criminal activity such as vandalism, violence and drug abuse.
At Berns, we are proud to support the children’s rights organization Maskrosbarn – a nonprofit organization that is both politically and religiously independent.
Maskrosbarn works to provide a safe space for teenagers aged 13 to 19, where they can share their experiences of challenging home environments, sometimes for the very first time.
Through long-term support, community, and tools for change, the organization helps young people create a positive direction in their lives. Learn more about their important work here.
